The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its Notification dated 11th April 2020 has extended the timeline for submission of annual return for the financial year 2019-2020 and half-year October 2019-March 2020 till 31st July 2020.
Every licensed Food Business operators involved in manufacturing/processing including re-labelers/re-packers and importers are required to submit annual return in Form D1 BY 31 May and FBOs involved in manufacturing/processing of milk or milk products are required to submit half-yearly return in Form D2 within one month of end of half-year. However, due to the difficulty faced by FBOs in submitting their return during lockdown for COVID-19 pandemic, the FSSAI has extended the timeline till 31st July 2020.
Further, the FBOs shall send their returns in the prescribed form through email/physical copies to the concerned licensing authority.
