Manipur Government Revises Minimum Wages for Workers

The Government of Manipur on March 10th 2025 has officially sanctioned the revision of minimum wages for various categories of daily wage, casual, and muster roll employees working across different departments and offices under the state government. The revised wages will come into effect starting from March 1, 2025.

The revised minimum wage rates cover several categories of workers, including unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled laborers. The increase in daily wages will benefit a large section of employees who are engaged in essential services like sweeping, field work, laboratory assistance, and various technical roles within government departments.

Revised Daily Wage Rates:

  • Unskilled Workers: The daily wage for unskilled laborers, which includes roles like Chowkidar, Peon, Sweeper, and Pump Operator, will be raised from Rs. 225 to Rs. 400.

  • Semi-Skilled Workers: For semi-skilled positions, such as Welder, Mechanic, and Driver (Light), the daily wage will rise from Rs. 248 to Rs. 440.

  • Skilled Workers: The daily wage for skilled employees, including positions like LDC/Clerk, Tracer/Surveyor, and Electricians, will be increased from Rs. 273 to Rs. 480.

These adjustments aim to provide fair compensation for the hard work and dedication of these employees who contribute significantly to the smooth functioning of government offices and services.
