The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced an extension for the activation of the Universal Account Number (UAN) and the seeding of Aadhaar with bank accounts for beneficiaries of the Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme. The new deadline for these activities is March 15, 2025.
In a circular issued on February 21, 2025, by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, EPFO stated that the competent authority has granted the extension for the completion of these processes. UAN activation and Aadhaar seeding are essential steps for employees to avail themselves of the benefits under the EPFO’s ELI Scheme.
The extension provides additional time for employees to complete the necessary formalities, ensuring they can access the scheme’s benefits without delay. Employees who have yet to activate their UAN or link their Aadhaar with their bank account are advised to complete these steps before the extended deadline of March 15, 2025.
