Medical Colleges Get Final Chance to Submit MBBS Admission Details After Supreme Court Order

Following a Supreme Court order dated December 20, 2024, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced a final extension for medical colleges across India to submit online details of first-year MBBS students admitted for the academic year 2024-25. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2025. This notice was issued on February 19, 2025.

The Supreme Court order, related to W.P. No. 824 of 2024, led to an extension of the counseling date until December 30, 2024, for the Special Stray Vacancy Round – III of UG Counselling for MBBS seats. Consequently, the NMC has reopened its online portal to collect admission details necessitated by this extension.

The NMC portal, previously open until December 10, 2024, for colleges to submit admission information, will now remain accessible until February 28, 2025. This extension provides a crucial last opportunity for colleges to comply with the “Criteria for Identification of Students Admitted in Excess of Admission Capacity of Medical Colleges Regulations, 1997,” and various Supreme Court directives.

The NMC has directed all medical colleges that admitted students as per the Supreme Court order to submit details of these additional admissions. Colleges are explicitly barred from making any changes or corrections to admission data previously submitted to the NMC.

This submission is mandatory, and colleges can access the online portal through the following link. The NMC has emphasized the importance of adhering to this deadline, as it represents the final opportunity to provide the required information.
