Karnataka Mandates Tender Entries in KPPP for Transparency

The Karnataka State Gazette has officially published a new notification in regard to the mandatory entry of work tenders and their progress details in the Contract Management Module of the Karnataka Public Procurement Platform (KPPP). This order, issued by the Karnataka Government on February 6, 2025, has been prompted by the need to ensure transparency and efficient management of government contracts.

Key Highlights of the Notification:

  • Date of Implementation: The order follows the provisions established under Notification No. AE 758 Expenditure-12/2023, issued on July 9, 2024, and has been implemented since March 23, 2024, for both the old and new versions of the KPPP.

  • Mandatory Entry of Tender Information: The government has directed all procurement authorities in the state to enter detailed information about the tenders and their physical and financial progress into the Contract Management Module of the e-Procurement platform. This includes both tenders that are ongoing and those that were completed in the last five financial years or earlier.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this directive is to ensure that all information related to the tender process and the execution of works is available for review in the e-Procurement platform, providing transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and contracts.

  • Scope of Application: The mandate applies to all departments, corporations, boards, and organizations under the authority of the state, including those involved in the Lateral Entry process within the Contract Management Module.

This new requirement aims to streamline procurement processes, making it easier to track the status of ongoing and completed works. By mandating the entry of both physical and financial progress details, the government is ensuring that there is a comprehensive record of how public funds are being spent and the efficiency of ongoing projects. This step is crucial in maintaining accountability and transparency, reducing the risk of mismanagement or corruption.
