Guidelines for Funding research on Corporate affairs

The “Funding Research and Studies, Workshops and Conferences” initiative is a key component of the Central Sector Plan Scheme titled “Corporate Data Management” (CDM). This initiative, implemented by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), aims to utilize the vast repository of corporate data available with the Ministry by sponsoring research studies and surveys. These studies will provide insights into corporate growth in the broader macroeconomic context.

Scope

Funding will extend to seminars, workshops, conferences, symposia, and publications, including reports, books, and monographs. These projects will primarily extract knowledge from MCA’s database and other credible sources, focusing on corporate governance and fostering sustainable, inclusive growth.

Implementation

The Research and Analysis (R&A) Division of MCA will oversee the implementation of this initiative, under the supervision of a “Technical Committee.”

Regulatory Framework

The procedures for grant-in-aid approval, monetary ceilings, advances, and installments will be governed by these guidelines. Any aspects not explicitly covered will be regulated by the General Financial Rules of the Government of India.

Objectives

The primary objective is to leverage corporate sector data available through the MCA21 e-governance system. By extracting actionable insights from this data, the initiative will contribute to policy formulation and decision-making in a market-driven economy.

Components

The initiative consists of two main components:

  1. Funding research and studies, workshops, and conferences through external agencies.
  2. Conducting in-house research within the R&A Division, MCA, by engaging young professionals.
