Manipur Government Announces Holiday List for 2025

The Government of Manipur, through a notification released on December 10, 2024, has declared the list of public holidays for the year 2025. In addition to the holidays specified in Annexure-I, the government has authorized all government employees to avail of 2 “Restricted Holidays” from the list provided in Annexure-II.

Key Points from the Notification:

Replacement of Certain Holidays:

  • The festivals Imoinu, Kang (Rathajatra), and Imoinu listed under Annexure-I can be replaced with holidays of local importance in the Hill Districts and Manipur Bhawans in Kolkata, Delhi, and Guwahati, after obtaining prior approval from the government by January 31, 2025.

  • These three festivals, however, may still be considered as Restricted Holidays in the Hill Districts and Manipur Bhawans.

Public Holidays:

    This notification ensures that government employees are informed about the official holidays for the upcoming year, while also providing flexibility for holidays of local importance in specific areas.
