On December 23, 2024, the Administrator of Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands issued an order regarding the revision of minimum wages for six scheduled employments, effective January 1, 2025. The revised wages have been determined based on the Average All India Consumer Price Index from the period April 2024 to September 2024.
Revised Minimum Wages:
The following are the new Minimum Rates of Wages applicable across various categories of employees in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, including government departments, offices, and industrial establishments:
- Unskilled Workers: ₹641.00 per day
- Semi-Skilled/Unskilled Supervisory Workers: ₹722.00 per day
- Skilled/Clerical Workers: ₹845.00 per day
- Highly Skilled Workers: ₹928.00 per day
These wage revisions are set to provide a more equitable compensation framework, reflecting the current economic conditions and the cost of living, ensuring fair wages for workers across these employment categories.
