Tripura Government Launches Real-Time Online Dashboard for Inspection Data

Government of Tripura has launched a real-time online dashboard to display inspection data for businesses and factories in the state. The initiative, announced on November 30, 2024, is in line with the Government of India’s Business Reform Action Plan 2023, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This step comes as part of the state’s efforts to boost the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) by making regulatory processes more accessible and efficient for industries operating in Tripura.

A Transparent and Accessible Inspection Process

The newly launched dashboard will make inspection data available to the public, showcasing crucial details about inspections conducted by multiple regulatory authorities. The agencies involved include:

  • Factories and Boilers Organization
  • Labour Directorate
  • Tripura State Pollution Control Board
  • Legal Metrology

These bodies work together to ensure that businesses and factories are compliant with state and national laws. By publishing detailed inspection data, the Tripura government is setting a new standard for transparency in the state’s regulatory process.

Key Features of the Online Dashboard

The online dashboard will provide a comprehensive view of the inspections conducted, with real-time updates. Some of the key features include:

  1. Total Number of Inspections Conducted
The dashboard will display the total number of inspections carried out across all relevant industries, giving a clear picture of the inspection activity taking place in the state.
  2. Total Number of Inspections Completed
It will also showcase how many inspections have been successfully completed, offering businesses insight into the current status of their inspections.
  3. Average Time Taken for Inspections
A key feature will be the average time taken to complete each inspection, helping businesses gauge the typical duration of the inspection process.
  4. Median Time for Inspections
The median time will also be displayed to provide a better understanding of the standard time it takes for inspections to be completed.
  5. Maximum and Minimum Time Taken
For greater transparency, the dashboard will highlight the maximum and minimum times taken for inspections, showcasing the extremes of the inspection process.
  6. Legal Time Limit as per Tripura Guaranteed Services to Citizens Act 2020
The dashboard will clearly show the time limit prescribed under the Tripura Guaranteed Services to Citizens Act, ensuring that all inspections are conducted within the framework of the law.
  7. Average Fee for Inspections
The average fee charged by the department for completing inspections will be made available, helping businesses plan their financial commitments.
  8. Self-Certification Exemptions
Businesses that have provided self-certifications to be exempt from inspections will also be tracked, ensuring that those who meet certain standards are recognized.
  9. Third-Party Certification Exemptions
The number of companies that have provided third-party certifications and were exempted from inspections will also be displayed.

Real-Time Data for Enhanced Efficiency

One of the most notable features of this initiative is that the dashboard will be updated in real-time. This ensures that businesses, government officials, and the general public will always have access to the latest data, allowing for quick updates on the status of inspections.
