SEBI Issues circular to mutual funds to report changes in terms of investment to credit rating agencies

The Securities Exchange Board of India in its circular dated 6th November 2019 has directed all the Mutual Funds and Credit Rating Agencies registered with SEBI to inform about any changes in terms of investments, including extension in the maturity of a money market or debt security, along-with reasons for such changes. The provision is applicable from November 6, the date of issuance of the circular.

This Circular comes as an update on the earlier SEBI circular dated 24th September 2019, on conditions to be adhered to by mutual funds in which the Mutual funds were required to inform about any changes to the valuation agency. Now through this modification Mutual funds has to inform the same to the Valuation agency as well as SEBI registered Credit Rating Agencies .
