CERC Extends Deadline for Comments and Organizes Workshop on GNA Regulations

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has extended the deadline for stakeholders to submit comments and suggestions on the “Staff Paper on Modifications in the GNA Regulations.” The new deadline is December 2, 2024. Additionally, CERC will also be having an interactive session to facilitate better understanding on the issues arising from these modifications on November 19, 2024.

Public Input on Regulatory Changes

It may be recalled that the CERC had stated that it had received suggestions from industry associations and statutory bodies regarding the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Connectivity and General Network Access to the inter-State Transmission System) Regulations, 2022 (GNA Regulations). Hence, it has proposed the Staff Paper which will outline some of these proposed changes and present alternative approaches for wider discussion.

The CERC originally solicited feedback on the proposal in a public notice dated October 9, 2024. Now. by the present notice, CERC has extended this deadline to December 2, 2024. This extension in deadline is in response to stakeholders having requested additional time to review and provide feedback on the proposed modifications.

Stakeholders can submit their comments and suggestions electronically to secy@cercind.gov.in and shilpa@cercind.gov.in by the extended deadline.

Interactive Workshop Scheduled

To facilitate a deeper understanding of the proposed changes, the CERC will host an interactive workshop on November 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM. This workshop will be held at the CERC headquarters in New Delhi. Stakeholders can attend in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Stakeholders wishing to participate virtually will receive a meeting link closer to the date. All interested parties are encouraged to confirm their attendance (in-person or virtual) by November 16, 2024. Confirmation emails should include names, email addresses, and preferred attendance mode to secy@cercind.gov.in and shilpa@cercind.gov.in.
