The department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade vide circular dated 25th October, 2024 has issued the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024. It shall come into force on the 1st April, 2025.
The new standards shall commence for small enterprises on 1st July 2025 and for micro enterprises on 1st October 2025.
Nothing in this order shall apply to the goods or articles imported up to two hundred kilograms for the purpose of research and development by manufacturers of Aluminium products per year with the condition that such imported goods and articles shall not be sold commercially and shall be disposed of as a scrap and the manufacturer shall maintain year-wise record of such imported goods or articles and furnish to the Central Government on its letter head duly signed by its authorized signatory.
