Madhya Pradesh Government Amends Minimum Wages Notification

On October 23, 2024, the Government of Madhya Pradesh issued an amendment to an earlier notification regarding variable wages under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. This update addresses specific corrections and clarifications that are crucial for agricultural employment in the state.

Key Amendments

Correction of Dates: The amendment corrects erroneous dates in Schedule D for agricultural employment. The dates have been revised to read “from October 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024” instead of the previously stated “from April 01, 2024, to September 30, 2024.” This adjustment ensures that the wage period accurately reflects the intended timeline for agricultural workers.

Unchanged Wage Rates: Importantly, all other minimum wage rates and conditions outlined in the original notification remain unchanged. This means that while the dates have been corrected, the wages themselves will continue as previously established.

      Revised Schedule D

The notification also includes the REVISED SCHEDULE D, which outlines the specific minimum wage rates applicable to various agricultural employment categories.
