The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has invited comments from stakeholders on a proposed Staff Paper outlining potential modifications to the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Connectivity and General Network Access to the inter-State Transmission System) Regulations, 2022 (GNA Regulations).
The CERC notified the GNA Regulations in June 2022 to facilitate renewable energy development by outlining transmission-related requirements for generating stations and consumers. Subsequent amendments were made in April 2023 and June 2024.
Stakeholder Input and Proposed Revisions
The CERC has received suggestions from industry associations and statutory bodies regarding the GNA Regulations. The Staff Paper outlines some of these proposed changes and presents alternative approaches for wider discussion.
