Rajasthan Government Announces Public and Optional Holidays for 2025

On October 15, 2024, the Government of Rajasthan issued a notification outlining the Public and Optional holidays for the entire state for the year 2025.

Key Highlights of the Notification

General Public Holidays:

All Saturdays and Sundays in 2025 will be designated as general public holidays. This decision aims to provide a consistent break for all employees across various sectors.

Bank Holidays:

Public holidays specifically for bank employees, as outlined under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881, will be published separately. This ensures that bank staff are aware of their specific holiday entitlements.

Swajanmashtami in Kota District:

In a special provision for Kota District, the day following Janmashtami will be celebrated as Swajanmashtami.

Voluntary Leave:

Employees will have the option to take leave from a list of voluntary holidays.

Muslim Holidays:

Observance of Muslim holidays will depend on the sighting of the moon.
