MPCB issues circular regarding Revision of Fee Structure for Health Care Establishments for obtaining a “Combined Consent and BMW Authorization.”

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on 11th October 2024 issued rules for the revision of rates of the fees structure for all medical establishments and projects involved in biomedical waste management who are required to obtain necessary licenses and permits from the MPCB under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

As per these orders, all medical establishments and projects involved in biomedical waste management must obtain consent from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.

For all medical establishments and projects involved in biomedical waste management, it is essential to obtain a “Combined Consent and BMW Authorization.” There have been amendments regarding the fees for obtaining these consents and the revised fees shall be applicable from 21st August 2024.

The Maharashtra government through its Environment Department made a decision to waive the fees for those medical establishments who have obtained the Combined Consent and BMW Authorization and paid the fees as per the prevailing rates.
