Bihar Government Announces Holiday Schedule for 2025

The government of Bihar on October 3rd 2024, issued notification regarding Bihar Government Holiday List of 2025.Bihar Government notifies that in the year 2025, there will be a general holiday in all the offices under the State Government and all the Revenue Magistrate Courts on the festival/occasions mentioned in:

SCHEDULE 1 : which lists General holiday declared under Executive Order in the year 2025.

  1. The dates of holiday for Muslim Festivals may change depending on the sighting of the moon.
  2. The five-day working week system will continue as earlier in the secretariat departments and directorates under the state government.
  3. In field offices (including offices of Divisional Commissioners, Offices of Chief Engineers etc) the 6-day working week system will continue to be in force as before.
  4. As both 368th and Ashwanantha birth Anniversaries of Guru Gobind Singh Ji fall in the year 2025, both the dates have been declared holidays.

SCHEDULE 2 : which states List of optional/restricted holidays for the State Government employees for the year 2025

  1. Out of the mentioned additional / restricted leaves, a maximum of 3 leaves can be availed in the whole year. For this the employees have to take prior approval and such approval can be given by the competent authority for sanctioning casual leave. Such leaves can be sanctioned keeping in view the requirement of government work.
  2. The leaves can be availed only on the basis of the date of the holiday.
  3. The leave can be availed by the employees employed from all regular appropriates sources of the Stat Government.

SCHEDULE 3 : lists the Public Holidays declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 in the State of Bihar for the year 2025

  1. The holidays declared under the NI Act will automatically apply to all State Government offices and Revenue Magistrate Courts

SCHEDULE 4 : lists the Annual Bank Account Closing Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, in the year 2025
