The Central Government has amended the Schedule to the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021 to include Acupuncture Professionals as a recognized category of other care providers. This inclusion was notified on September 26, 2024.
The amendment was made after consultation with the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions. Through this notification, Acupuncture Professionals have been added to the list of recognized healthcare professionals under sub-heading “Other Care Professionals.”
The corresponding code numbers for Acupuncture Professionals are 2230 and 3230.
This recognition acknowledges the role of Acupuncture Professionals in providing healthcare services and aligns with the government’s efforts to regulate and promote allied healthcare professions in India.
The inclusion of Acupuncture Professionals in the Schedule will provide them with greater recognition and potential benefits, such as eligibility for government schemes and professional development opportunities.
