The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has announced an extension of the deadline for the approval and appeal process for pharmacy institutions for the academic year 2024-25. This extension is in line with a recent judgment passed by the Supreme Court of India.
In a circular issued on August 30, 2024, the PCI stated that it had received numerous representations from stakeholders regarding the last date for admissions to various pharmacy courses. In response to these concerns, the Supreme Court granted an extension for the completion of the approval process until October 31, 2024, and for appeals or compliance processes until November 30, 2024.
Given this extension, the PCI has clarified that all admission-making authorities, state governments, and other relevant bodies are requested to allot admissions to various pharmacy courses approved by the PCI until November 30, 2024 for the academic year 2024-2025.
This extension will provide additional time for pharmacy institutions to complete the necessary approval processes and for any appeals to be addressed. It is expected to facilitate a smoother admission process for students seeking to enroll in pharmacy programs.
