The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a circular requesting all pharmacy institutions to celebrate the 4th National Pharmacovigilance Week from September 17th to 23rd, 2024. This circular was issued on September 4, 2024.
The theme for this year’s observance is “Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety.” According to a circular issued by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), all pharmacy institutions are encouraged to participate in the event by creating informational materials such as posters, banners, and pamphlets. These materials will help raise awareness about adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and the importance of reporting them.
Pharmacovigilance is a crucial aspect of public health, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines. By reporting ADRs, healthcare professionals and patients can help identify potential safety issues and contribute to the development of safer medicines.
