The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a circular withdrawing and canceling the Competency Based Medical Education Curriculum (CBME) Guidelines, 2024, which were published on August 31, 2024. This withdrawal notification was issued on September 5, 2024.
The CBME guidelines were introduced as part of the NMC’s efforts to modernize medical education in India and align it with international standards. The guidelines outlined the competencies that medical students should acquire during their training, as well as the learning outcomes and assessment methods.
The NMC stated that the guidelines will be revised and uploaded in due course.
