NMC Backtracks on College of Physicians and Surgeons Course Discontinuation

The Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has withdrawn its previous notice regarding the discontinuation of courses offered by the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS), Mumbai. This notice was issued on August 30, 2024.

This decision follows the Bombay High Court’s order of August 22, 2024, which stayed the PGMEB’s earlier decision. The PGMEB has now rescinded its letter dated August 16, 2024, and the public notice issued on the same date.

The withdrawal of the notice means that CPS courses will continue to be offered. Students pursuing these courses and medical institutions running them can proceed with their academic activities as planned.

The PGMEB’s decision reflects the ongoing legal proceedings and the need to respect the judicial process.
