The Government of Chandigarh has proposed the Draft Chandigarh Administration Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2024, on July 24, 2024.
Applicability:
- The rules apply to aggregators onboarding transport vehicles in the designated area of operation.
- Vehicles covered include all motor vehicles under the Act, as well as e-rickshaws, e-bikes, cabs, etc.
Eligibility of an Aggregator:
- Applicants must be registered as a company under the Companies Act, 1956 or 2013, a co-operative society under the Co-operative Societies Act, 1912 formed by an association of drivers or motor vehicle owners, or a limited liability partnership under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008.
- Applicants must have a registered office in India and a sub-office in the Tri-City area (Chandigarh, Panchkula, or Mohali).
Public Consultation:
- Objections and suggestions can be submitted to the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Sector 18, (Near Govt. Press) UT Chandigarh.
- Submissions can be made in writing or via email to sta18-chd@nic.in.
