The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a stern warning to medical colleges and institutions regarding impersonation of attendance in the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). This warning was issued through a public notice dated July 23, 2024.
The NMC has observed instances where faculty members have been marking attendance using fake fingerprints. The NMC emphasizes that any such practice is viewed as a serious offense.
The commission has explicitly stated that all faculty members must personally mark their attendance in the AEBAS system. Any violation of this mandate will result in strict action against the concerned medical institution.
