CDSCO Publishes List Of Drugs Declared As Not Of Standard Quality And Spurious For June 2024

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has published two lists of drugs declared as Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) for June 2024. One list comprises of drugs that have been analyzed by state laboratories and the second list enumerates drugs analyzed by CDSCO/ central laboratories. Both these lists were published on July 19, 2024.

Central Laboratories NSQ List of drugs/ medical device/ cosmetics for June – 2024

The NSQ drug list for central CDSCO laboratories specifies a total of 31 drugs that were detected to be deficient.

Out of the 31 NSQ drugs from CDSCO/Central Laboratories, 12 were reported by Central Drug Laboratory (CDL), Kolkata; 7 were reported by Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory (RDTL), Chandigarh; 7 were reported by RDTL, Guwahati; 4 were reported by Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), Mumbai and 1 were reported by CDTL, Hyderabad.

The NSQ drug list specifies a total of 30 drugs that were detected to be deficient by the state laboratories. All of these 30 drugs were declared to be not of standard quality and 2 were also found to be misbranded.

Out of these 30 drugs, 7 were reported by Drugs Testing Laboratory Thiruvananthapuram and 23 were reported by Maharashtra.

It is pertinent to note that CDSCO did not receive NSQ data as per Format & in EXCEL SHEET from State Drugs Licensing Authorities of Rajasthan and Orissa for the Month of June, 2024. Both these states sent their data in a PDF format.

However, the State Drugs Licensing Authorities of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Telangana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar, Dadar and Nagar Haveli; Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep have not submitted any data in respect of the Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) Alert for the Month of June, 2024.
