NMC Warns Against Misleading Media Reports

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is urging the public to be cautious of misleading news reports regarding the approval of new medical colleges for the 2024-25 academic year. This cautionary public notice was issued on July 8, 2024.

NMC has been undertaking the processing of applications for the grant of permission for establishing new medical colleges for the academic year 2024-2025.

The NMC has observed that some media outlets have falsely claimed that the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has finalized approvals on 113 applications for establishing new medical colleges.

The NMC emphasizes its commitment to transparency through official public notices on its website, which is the sole source of authentic information for stakeholders and the public.

The NMC’s July 6, 2024 public notice only listed applications with finalized MARB decisions. This doesn’t mean approvals for all 113 applications. These decisions can be either approval or rejection.

These decisions have already been communicated to the relevant medical institutions and will be uploaded to the NMC website soon.

Advice to the Public

The NMC advises everyone to disregard misleading or unfounded news reports in print or electronic media regarding these approvals.
