The Ministry of Communications had recently notified on 21st June 2024, that from 26th June,
2024 the certain sections of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 shall come into force. These
sections cover a wide range of aspects, from defining regulatory frameworks to outlining
rights and responsibilities within the telecommunications sector.
Additionally, from July 5 th , 2024, sections 6 to 8, 48, and 59(b) of the Act will also be
implemented. These sections focus on specific areas such as Technologically neutral use of
spectrum, Optimal utilization of spectrum, Establishment of monitoring & enforcement
mechanism and Prohibition of use of equipment which blocks tele communication.
Section 59(b) specifically addresses the conditions and procedures for granting licenses for
various telecommunications activities under the Act.
