Warehousing Regulatory Authority notifies agricultural commodities to be stored in registered warehouses

The Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority vide notification dated 5th June,
2024 which was published in the Gazette of India on July 2, 2024 determines 10 agricultural
commodities that can be stored in registered warehouses under the Warehouse (Development
and Regulation) Act, 2007.


The commodities includes Ginger seed, Jack Fruit seed, Raw Arrowroot powder, White peas
and Millets- Barnyard, Browntop, Foxtail, Kodo, Proso and Little Millet.


The commodities must comply with quality specifications or standards of AGMARK, Bureau
of Indian Standards, or Food Safety and Standards Authority of India if these agencies have
no standards, government standards which applies to the commodities.


Further for the commodities requiring chemical or allied laboratory analysis, all AGMARK
laboratories, all accredited laboratories notified by the National Accreditation Board for
Testing and Calibration and laboratories recognised by the Bureau of Indian Standards and
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India are authorized for laboratory testing.
