BIS Revises Standards On Surgical Instruments And Dentistry

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised certain standards on Thoracic Surgery Instruments And Dentistry. These notifications were published on June 26, 2024.

The BIS has revised the following standards on dentistry:

  • Dentistry — Casting and Baseplate Waxes
  • Dentistry — Dental Tweezers
  • Dental Excavators (First Revision)
  • Dental Burnishers (First Revision)
  • Dental Carvers (First Revision)
  • Dental Articulators (First Revision)
  • Dentistry — Intraoral Spatulas

BIS has also introduced new standards on the following surgical instruments:

  • Thoracic Surgery Instruments — Straight and Angular Patent Ductus Clamps — Specification (Second Revision)
  • Thoracic Surgery Instruments — Dissecting Scissors — Specification (Second Revision)
  • Intervertebral Disc Rongeur (First Revision)

All these standards were established on June 6, 2024 and their previous versions will be withdrawn from September 6, 2024.
