Haryana Government Issues Amendment In Haryana Right To Information Rules, 2009

The Haryana government has recently issued aa notification affirming its earlier notification issued on April 12, 2021 regarding amendment to the Haryana Right to Information Rules, 2009 by introducing FORM-A.

This FORM-A requires RTI applicants to furnish proof of identity (such as Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter Card, Pan Card, PPP ID, or Government issued Identity Card) along with their application as per the Haryana Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

The State Government has discovered that public authorities are not adhering to rules, and some State Public Information Officers (SPIOs) are processing RTI applications without mandatory identity proof. The government emphasises that neither the First Appellate Authority nor SPIOs can waive this requirement, violating the rules.

The Haryana Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2021″ are annexed with the notification and directed that these rules should again be brought specifically to the notice of all First Appellate Authority/State Public Information Officer highlighting the seriousness of any violation.
