Extension In Timeline For Furnishing Comments On Draft DSM Regulations, 2024

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has extended the deadline for stakeholders to submit comments and suggestions on the Draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) Regulations, 2024. This public notice was issued on May 24, 2024.

It may be recalled that these draft regulations were first published by a notification dated April 30, 2024. The deadline for receiving comments on this draft regulations was fixed as May 24, 2024.

These draft regulations outline the process for managing deviations from power schedules in the Indian electricity grid. Deviations occur when the actual electricity generation or consumption differs from what was planned. The new regulations aim to ensure a fair and efficient system for managing these deviations.

The CERC notes that several stakeholders requested more time to provide feedback on the draft regulations. The CERC has responded to this request by extending the deadline from May 24, 2024, to June 3, 2024.
