Consultation Paper on measures towards Ease Of Doing Business for REITs and InvITs

SEBI has issued a Consultation Paper on measures towards Ease Of Doing Business for REITs and InvITs. The objective of this consultation paper is to seek comments / views / suggestions from the public on the proposals related to certain measures proposed towards the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) for REITs and InvITs. Proposals for REITs and InvITs includes:

1. Revision of timelines for distribution to five working days from declaration.
2. Allowing unitholders meeting with shorter notice.
3. Disclosure and Review of Statement of Investor Complaints.
4. Disclosure of Statement of Deviation(s) Alongside Financial Results.
5. Clarification on Voting Thresholds in terms of percentage, and providing electronic meeting and e-voting option to unitholders.
6. Allowing Maintenance of Records In Electronic Form Along With Backup And Disaster Recovery Norms For Such Records.
