Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Publishes New Regulations

The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Publishes New Regulations has notified three new regulations on pharmacy and swasthavritta programs. These new regulations were published in May 2024.

The Institute has published the following regulations:

  • Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda –Swasthavritta and Allied Sciences Programme Regulations 2024,
  • Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Bachelor of Pharmacy- Ayurveda [B. Pharm. (Ayu.)] Regulations 2024 and
  • Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (Diploma in Pharmacy – Ayurveda) Regulations 2024

I. Swasthavritta and Allied Sciences Programme Regulations 2024

Eligibility and Admission Dates

  • Open to Indian and foreign nationals with qualifications equivalent to the program’s requirements.
  • Maximum age of 45 years for all programs.
  • Applications accepted between July and September (deadline: September 30th).

Reservations

  • Seats will be reserved for Scheduled Castes, Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections, and Persons with Disabilities as per government guidelines.

Program Duration and Training Methods

  • One academic year (two terms) for both Diploma programs.
  1. Executive Diploma:
    • This program will comprise of intensive training in classical knowledge, comparative studies, and practical aspects like consultation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  2. Post Graduate Diploma:
    • It will delve into in-depth subject matter teaching based on classical and contemporary knowledge with extensive practical training aligned with health promotion and wellness education.

II. Bachelor of Pharmacy- Ayurveda [B. Pharm. (Ayu.)] Regulations 2024

Minimum Educational Requirements and Entrance Exam:

  • Minimum qualifications are a pass in 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is mandatory for all candidates except foreign nationals.

Foreign Nationals and Other Reservations

  • Two seats are reserved for foreign government-approved candidates.
  • Equivalent qualifications approved by the Central Government may be considered for foreign nationals.
  • Seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disabilities as per government guidelines.

Program Details:

  • Duration: Four years, including a 12-week internship.
  • Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda).
  • Medium of Instruction: English or Hindi.
  • Teaching Pattern: Horizontal integration model with lectures and non-lectures (practicals, demonstrations, etc.).

III. Diploma in Pharmacy – Ayurveda Regulations 2024

Eligibility and

  • Applicants must have passed the intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Program Duration and Medium of Instruction:

  • Program will be for two academic years and
  • The medium of instruction of the program will be English or Hindi.
