In the exercise of authority vested by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and in replacement of the Copper Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023, the Central Government, in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards, has promulgated the Copper Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order mandates adherence to specific Indian standards for designated goods, necessitating the display of the Standard Mark obtained through Bureau licensing. Micro and small enterprises, as defined by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, must comply with these standards within specified timelines. The Bureau is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority. Violators of this order are subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
