The Indian government has announced a delay in the enforcement of the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This delay was notified by the present amendment order published on March 28, 2024.
The date for enforcement was previously fixed for April 1, 2024. However, businesses dealing with agro textiles now have until July 1st, 2024, to comply with the quality control regulations set by BIS.
This extension provides agro textile manufacturers and suppliers with an additional three months to ensure their products meet the BIS standards. This could involve adjustments to manufacturing processes or obtaining necessary certifications.
