Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Doctor of Philosophy Regulations, 2024

The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda has announced the implementation of new Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) regulations, effective from March 7, 2024. These regulations aim to streamline the doctoral degree program and ensure adherence to standardized procedures.

Under these regulations, all matters concerning the Ph.D. program at the Institute will be overseen by Research Committees, with general supervision from the Governing body. Each department will have its own Departmental Research Committee, responsible for scrutinizing applications, assigning research fields, and evaluating progress reports.

The Institutional Research Committee will handle disputes and oversee the overall functioning of the research program. It will conduct Ph.D. open defense and viva voce examinations and recommend the award of the Ph.D. degree to successful scholars.

Applicants for the doctoral program will be classified into various categories based on their funding source or employment status. These include categories such as Ministry of Ayush-funded, self-financed, research associates, or staff members.

Admissions to the Ph.D. program will be conducted annually, with entrance tests typically held in October-November. The Institute will publish an academic calendar specifying all important dates related to the admission process, including advertisement, application submission, and entrance test results.

Alongside admission advertisements, the Institute will also provide a list of available guides and their research areas on its official website. Applicants will be required to apply for the entrance test in the specified format, along with the requisite fees.

These new regulations are aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the Ph.D. program at the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, ensuring high-quality research output and academic excellence.
