Prime Minister digitally launched the initiative for the redevelopment of 554 railway stations nationwide as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Monday (26 Feb). Additionally, he laid the cornerstone for 1585 road over bridges and underpasses during the event. This Notification was published on 26.02.2024.
Preceding the inauguration, a ceremony was organized by the Central Railway at Byculla Railway Station in Mumbai. Maharashtra Governor presided over the event. The Governor expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for incorporating 56 railway stations, along with 192 over bridges and underground passes, in Maharashtra under the renovation project. Furthermore, the Governor presented awards to the victors of drawing and essay writing competitions.
