Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2024

The Government of Assam, specifically the Labour Welfare Department issued  a notification on 05th February, 2024, regarding the revision of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for employees and workers engaged under Private Security Agency Houses in the state of Assam. The notification specifies that the rates of VDA payable for the period from July 2023 to December 2023 have been fixed based on a 100% rise on the average All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers. 

It further explains that the average CPI points for the relevant periods have been taken into account to determine the revised VDA rates. The notification includes a table detailing the existing wages per month, previous VDA cumulated, new VDA, and present wages per month for different categories of employees such as ASO, Supervisor, Gunmen (Armed), and Security Guard (Unarmed). 

The revision is based on a 100% rise on the average All India CPI for Industrial Workers and takes into account the average CPI points for the relevant periods. The table provided in the notification presents the revised VDA rates alongside the existing wages per month, previous VDA cumulated, and the resulting present wages per month for different employee categories.
