Kerala’s Technological Triumph: KITE’s Success at the 2024 Sabha Awards

Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), a key entity within the Department of Public Education, clinched the prestigious 2024 ‘Sabha Award’ for its outstanding IT initiatives in the government sector. The accolade specifically recognized KITE’s pioneering efforts in the realm of Internet of Things (IoT), particularly through its innovative robotics and AI learning project. This Notification was published on 02.03.2024.

The award-winning project, aptly named Kite, has been instrumental in deploying 9000 robotic kits across 2000 schools through the establishment of Little Kites IT Clubs. This strategic initiative, led by KITE CEO K Anwar Sadat, garnered significant attention for its innovative approach to nurturing technological literacy among students. Central to the project’s success is its aim to deliver specialized training in IoT, Robotics, and AI to an initial cohort of 1.80 lakh children enrolled in Little Kites IT Clubs. Subsequently, the project targets expanding its reach to benefit a staggering 12 lakh children by leveraging open hardware solutions.
