Gujarat’s Tourism Boom: Driving Growth with Transformative Projects

Prime Minister heralded Gujarat’s pivotal role in India’s transformation, spotlighting its booming tourism sector fueled by infrastructure upgrades. Enhanced connectivity and streamlined e-visa processes have attracted a staggering 15.5 lakh foreign tourists to Gujarat in 2022, contributing to the state’s allure on the global stage. The inauguration of 11 development projects worth ₹4100 crores, including India’s longest cable-stayed bridge, Sudarshan Setu, signifies Gujarat’s commitment to modernization. This bridge facilitates easier access to revered sites like the Dwarkadhish temple, amplifying Gujarat’s spiritual essence. Reflecting on Gujarat’s rich heritage, PM envisioned Okha’s resurgence as a global trading hub, echoing its legacy of excellence. Critiquing past governance failures, he contrasted his administration’s commitment to eradicating corruption and fostering inclusive development. Gujarat’s tourism sector has witnessed significant enhancements, including UNESCO recognition for Ahmedabad’s cultural sites and the SAU scheme addressing water scarcity in Saurashtra. Chief Minister of Gujarat hailed the Sudarshan Setu as a bridge between ancient heritage and modern development, embodying the motto “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.”With projects worth ₹52 thousand crores in Saurashtra alone, Gujarat’s future looks promising under PM Modi’s leadership, promising unprecedented growth and inclusive progress.
