The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas issued a Direction on 22nd February, 2024, which pertains to the regulated use of DG (Diesel Generator) sets in the National Capital Region (NCR) and adjoining areas. This Direction is an Amendment to the Direction issued on 29th September, 2023.
The amendments are in response to the availability of Retrofitted Emission Control Devices (RIICD) for DG sets with a capacity range of 61 to 125 KW. The amendments specifically focus on altering the capacity ranges for DG sets as mentioned in the original Direction No. 76. The revised capacity ranges now stand at 61 KW to less than 800 KW for DG sets, and 19 KW to less than 61 KW for DG sets, reflecting the changes made to the original direction.
