Chief Minister of Telangana held a review meeting on the possibility of scrapping GO 46

Telangana Government officials, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, recently held a meeting to discuss the possibility of revoking Government Order (GO) number 46. The fruitful discussion included the presentation of various suggestions to the Chief Minister concerning the issuance of fresh notifications to fill job vacancies. This move aims to streamline the recruitment process further, particularly for positions where the selection process has already been completed based on previous notifications. This Notification was published on 12.02.2024.

In March 2022, the previous government issued a notification for police recruitment. Subsequently, in October 2023, the selection process for 15,750 posts was successfully concluded. However, due to an ongoing court case, the appointment process has been put on hold. Recently, the High Court issued directions, stating that appointment orders should be granted to the selected candidates as the selection process had already reached its completion stage. Based on the recommendations of the State Advocate General and officials, it has been determined that issuing appointment orders for the 15,750 posts, for which the selection process is finished, is the only viable option. In light of this, officials proposed to the Chief Minister to consider the cancellation of GO 46 and explore the option of issuing new notifications.
