Startup TN, the Government of Tamil Nadu’s nodal agency for Startup and innovation, functioning under the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, is inviting applications from Startups for ‘TANSEED 6.0’, the sixth edition of Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Fund (TANSEED). Launched on January 25th , 2024, this edition of TANSEED aims to support deserving Startups with Support Equity-linked Grant Fund. Since its inception in 2021, TANSEED Fund has been sanctioned to 132 Startups. This Notification was published on 24.01.2024.
“TANSEED, the Tamil Nadu government’s flagship seed fund initiative, has undergone a transformation in its 5th edition. Now functioning as a Support Equity-linked grant fund, it offers substantial support to Startups, particularly Green Tech, Rural Impact, and Women-led ventures (up to Rs. 15 Lakh), and other sectors (up to 10 Lakh each). As part of this support, Startup TN acquires a 3% Support Stake in the ventures, accompanied by a one-year accelerator program. This program includes valuable elements like mentorship support, priority access to networking events, and opportunities for national and international startup delegations.” “TANSEED, the Tamil Nadu government’s key seed fund initiative for startups, addresses the financial needs of early-stage ventures. In its 5th edition, TANSEED has evolved into a Support Equity-linked grant fund. Beneficiaries identified for this program will be granted funds and support in return for a 3% support stake in their startup venture.” TANSEED 6.0 offers support for startups in Tamil Nadu with a focus on innovation, employment generation, social impact, and wealth creation. To qualify, startups must be registered in Tamil Nadu and with Startup TN, recognized by DPIIT, Government of India. The fund is intended for developing prototypes, market-ready products, or small-scale pilot production. Eligible entities should not be formed through reconstruction, be subsidiaries, joint ventures, or associates of existing businesses, and not be Indian subsidiaries of Multinational or foreign companies. The applying startup should have no dues or blacklisting with any Government agency in India. Successful TANSEED beneficiaries from previous editions have scaled their ventures, secured venture capital funding, and expanded significantly.
