The Central Government has announced a half-day holiday for all Central Government offices, Central institutions & Central industrial establishments throughout India on the occasion of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha. This means that public sector banks will be closed for half-day. Further, all banks in some states will be closed for the full day.
Furthermore, a number of State Governments have proclaimed a half day holiday while some State Governments have issued a full day holiday for their employees on January 22, 2024.
In regards to the State Governments the following directions were issued for the Holiday on 22nd January, 2023
- Assam, state government offices and educational institutions will be closed until 2:30 PM
- The Odisha government has stated, the state government offices as well as the Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive) will remain closed for half a day until 2:30 p.m. on 22.01.2024 (Monday).
- The Tripura Government stated that all the State Government Offices and educational institutions across the state of Tripura will remain closed till 2:30 PM
- Haryana government declares public holiday on 22nd January , on the occasion of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha
- Maharashtra government declares public holiday on 22nd January
- The Rajasthan government has issued an order regarding, In view of the Ayodhya Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, to close all the slaughterhouses and meat and fish shops in the state.
- Government of Goa has declared Public Holiday on 22nd January, 2024 to all State Government Departments, Autonomous bodies, Corporation and State Government aided Intuitions on occasion of the grand ceremony of consecration of idol of Prabhu Ram at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh
The aim behind providing the holiday is to enable the employees to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya.
