General Insurers carrying on Motor Insurance Business to strictly comply with accident related laws

IRDAI vide circular dated 8th January, 2024 has directed all General Insurers carrying on Motor Insurance Business to strictly comply with the provisions of following laws:

1. Central Motor Vehicles (Motor Vehicle Accident Fund) Rules, 2022
2. Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accidents Scheme, 2022
3. Central Motor Vehicles (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2022 – Procedure for Investigation of Motor Vehicle Accidents

Necessary arrangements be made by the insurers for the smooth implementation of the procedures laid down in the rules.
