the University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a pioneering initiative known as the “Professor of Practice.” The Professor of Practice initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by incorporating professionals, practitioners, policymakers, and other experts into the academic realm. This novel approach intends to infuse real-world practices and experiences into classrooms, thereby enriching the learning experience for students.
In this connection, the UGC has launched the Professor of Practice portal on 16th May, 2023. The portal serves as a platform where professionals from various domains can register and contribute their expertise to the Higher Education system. Currently, 4255 experts already registered on the portal, showcasing the enthusiasm and support for this initiative.
The Higher Education Institutions are requested to furnish the details of their faculty members appointed through Professor of Practice portal and provide their details at UGC University Activity Monitoring portal at https://uamp.ugc.ac.in/ latest by 1On December 2023.
