The Dental Council of India (DCI) has officially declared the schedule for the Screening Test, which will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. This announcement was issued on December 1, 2023.
This examination is designed for Indian citizens, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) holding a primary dental qualification, PG Diploma, or Post Graduate Dental qualification from a dental institution outside India. The purpose is to facilitate registration with any State Dental Council or for other purposes as specified by the Dental Council of India.
Examination Dates:
- FDST (UG) 2023: 20th January 2024
- FDST (MDS / PG Diploma) 2023: 16th March 2024
Application Process: As per the ‘Dental Council of India Screening Test Regulations, 2009,’ eligible candidates must submit their duly filled-in application forms (available on the DCI website) by 10th December 2023. The application should include relevant particulars, the requisite fee, and necessary documents for candidate assessment.
Requisite Fee: A non-refundable fee of Rs.11,800/- (including 18% GST) must be paid via NEFT / IMPS to the Canara Bank account with the details provided:

How to Apply: Interested candidates can download the application form from the official DCI website and submit complete applications to the DCI office within the specified timeframe. Candidates who have previously attempted the examination can reapply by paying the requisite fee.
Admit Card and Syllabus: Eligible candidates will receive their admit cards directly from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. The DCI has advised candidates to refer to the ‘DCI Screening Test Regulations, 2009,’ available on their website, for information on the syllabus. The NBE’s website will regularly update the examination schedule.
