The Governor of Uttarakhand has issued a notification to create a new Tehsil named “Mussoorie.” This notification was issued on 18th October, 2023.
This Tehsil will comprises of specified villages along with the Sadar Tehsil Headquarters in Dehradun, District Dehradun. Simultaneously, the notification separates these villages from the boundaries of the existing Tehsil Dehradun.
The list of villages included in the newly created Tehsil Mussoorie is categorized under the Revenue Sub Inspector (Patwari)/Lekhpal Area as follows:
- Kyarkuli Bhatta, encompassing Punkalgaon, Zhadipaani, and Kyarkuli Bhatta.
- Rikhauli, covering Bhitarli, Rikhauli, and Singli.
- Jaakhan, comprising Kuthalgaon and Makdeti.
- Johadi, including Johadi.
- Silla, with Nalikala, Garh Buranshkhanda, and Chalchala.
- Sarauna, encompassing Sarauna.
- Chamasari, including Chamasari Motidhar.
Additionally, the Governor has directed that this notification will not adversely affect any ongoing or pending legal proceedings in any law court that has so far exercised jurisdiction over these areas.
