The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published a list of notified laboratories for testing of fortificants in fortified rice products. This list was issued on 13th October, 2023.
The products covered by this notice are as follows:
- Fortified Rice (FR)
- Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) and
- Premix for Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK)
These laboratories will be testing fortificants comprising of iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin B9.
A total of 42 labs have been notified for testing for these fortificants in FR
Further, 17 labs have been notified for testing of fortificants in FRK.
Moreover, 5 out of these 17 labs have also been notified to test for fortificants in Premix for FRK. Additionally, Fare Labs Pvt. Ltd, Haryana has also been notified to test for fortificants in Premix for FRK.
