The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has categorized semi-conductor manufacturing industries under its Harmonization of Classification of Industrial Sectors. This notice was issued on 5th September, 2023.
It may be recalled that the CPCB has categorised over 242 industrial sectors as red/ orange/ green/ white categories. This categorisation has been made under the harmonization of classification of industrial sectors.
The CPCB has instructed all SPCBs and PCCs to adopt and implement the categorisation of semi-conductor manufacturing industries and submit the Action Taken Report by 20th September, 2023.
